Do you know what happens to the plastic bottle caps? Well, it may not be what you think. We, Mrs. Smith’s third grade class, want to make a change at Nellie F. Bennett and start a bottle cap recycling program. In school, we learn about the three R’s, but are we doing this? No, not yet. These bottle caps are ending up in our beaches, oceans, and landfills. We believe that we can make a difference to our community. Every day we hear adults say that we are the future. We are ready to make a better future for our environment, just give us the chance.
Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
We are reducing the number of bottle
caps that will end up in the trash or worse,
our environment. We are reusing containers to collect the bottle caps.
Parents please send 2 lb empty coffee containers to Mrs. Smith.
On-going Events

RECYCLE YOUR CELL PHONE
We are looking to collect and recycle your used working cell phones. The Nellie Bennett PTO is currently partnering with a recycling company who will in return compensate our school for every phone we send to them for recycling. Just like the Used Ink and Toner Cartridges please send your cell phone into school with your student.
Recycling for the greater of our earth turns into funds for our school.
Please contact nfbpto@gmail.com if you have any questions.
BOX TOPS
ADDS UP TO GREAT TOOLS FOR
NELLIE BENNETT
The PTO collects General Mills Box Tops which are turned in to cash and used to purchase items that are educational based and requested by our teachers.
Please clip the Box Tops from your favorite General Mills products and send them in with your student in a Ziploc bag. The PTO will collect your contribution and turn your clippings into dollars for our school.
Per the BoxTops4Education website we have been
a strong community in raising
funds for our school.

PTO CONTRIBUTES TO OUR SCHOOL
AND OUR EARTH THROUGH RECYCLING INK CARTRIDGES
The PTO collects used Ink Cartridges and recycles them at a local company for cash. Please save your used cartridges and send them in with your student – it’s an easy way to earn money for PTO sponsored activities and save the earth at the same time! Please place them in a Ziploc bag and a PTO volunteer will collect the cartridges from your student’s teacher. Thank You!
